Happy are they who take life day by day, complain very little, and are thankful for the little things in life.

Truly enjoying the little things within my day to day life makes a huge impact on my happiness.

In my darkest moments though, its hard to see those little things.

Sometimes those little things can even become annoyances.

Like when my almost five year old is extremely proud of the airplane/robot he just made out of his legos and all he wants to do is share that pride with me. If I am having a rough day I can be caught shooing him off.

But, those little things in his little life are extremely big things. And this is something we, as adults, need to learn to do.

Enjoy the little things.

It's all about the

With everything I have on my plate on a normal day, with out adding in birthday parties, family events, doctor appoinments, ect, it becomes hard to slow down. Even recognize those little things. The depression makes is almost impossible.

But, when I do slow down and enjoy those extra bedtime kisses or a game of Go Fish my spirit is lifted and I am smiling.

Starting tomorrow I am going to start a ten day little things challenge.

Ten Day Little Things Challenge. (1)

One day, I would like to have a lot of MY followers do this with me, but at this point I am going to do it for myself.

I think that it will be a real good mood booster and really remind me to slow down and enjoy those little things. And I think it will be a great direction to start the blog in.

Starting tomorrow I will take a few pictures of something little that I slowed down to enjoy and then write a post about it. I will do this for ten days!

Enjoy whats to come and don’t forget to slow down and enjoy the little things!

  1. I love your blog! I think all of us stay at home mamas have a lot of the same underlying worries and troubles so it’s nice to know it’s not just me going crazy lol. I can totally relate to crazy, hectic days that just kinda put you into a depression, and sometimes I can’t even tell you exactly why. I personally have been trying to just go with the flow more and understand some things are just out if my control. I look forward to following you on your journey!

  2. Great post. I get so tired of listening to my family complain all the time, I may have to use this with them. Very cute that your first comment was from your dad. Mine is my biggest fan also. #momsterlink

  3. What a great idea. I think it’s really important to try and focus on the little things, they are quite often the things that bring us the most pleasure. I know that my girls are easily pleased with the simple things in life and I love that. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove Laura x

  4. What a fantastic idea. I think this is the main thing that having a child has shown me – that there is so much joy to be found in the small things if you take the time to notice them. I’m sure this will be a really positive thing for you. Thanks so much for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  5. Love this idea. It’s so easy to lose sight of the little things that make us happy or make our lives better. I wrote a gratitude list blog post at the start of the year…I’m way overdue writing another one. #sharethebloglove

  6. I love this idea as lately I too find myself getting very easily irritated with my kids. The summer is in full swing and it’s hot and windy outside not to mention the air quality is horrible due to so many fires. I can only stand to take them to the bouncy house and bowling alley so many times before my brain hurts. We love to do crafts but it takes longer getting it ready and cleaning it up than the actual craft time. Yep maybe I need to accept this challenge. Thanks for linking up with #momsterslink.
