Welcome back to Takin Care of Me Monday!
I haven’t done one in a while, as I have been busy “perfecting” my new site! What do ya think? I am so excited about it and cannot wait to continue to grow with it!
Anyways, a lot has been going on the past couple of weeks and I have been trying to focus a little more on myself.
I have had some dark days, but they seem to be less and less.
I have been drinking more water and I started doing yoga again. I finally bought myself a new mat to help motivate me. In the beginning of the year I started doing yoga in my living room by watching videos on you tube. It was such a stress reliever and I felt much better when I was making it an important part of my day. I had gotten to such a low point, I just stopped one day. I am excited to get back into it!
Doing yoga in the mornings helps so much with my energy level! This week I am focusing on getting up earlier to do my yoga and get myself ready for the day. I am learning the hard way that I just need to become a morning person. I need to be up before the kids to have that alone time. I need to make that time in morning about me. Not about my hubby or the kids or even the blog. Just me. Doing my yoga, taking a shower and getting myself ready for the day. I am pretty sure this is going to be something that will help get me to the place I so desperately need to be in.
This week I also started a “Goals and To Do’s” notebook. I am a writer by nature, so I want to see how it will help me by writing down all my goals and to do’s for the week and daily. On Sunday I made the book to look bright and cheerful. I made a weekly page and a handful of daily pages. I then wrote down my goals and to do’s for the week. Before I went to bed I sat down and wrote out my goals and to do’s for today. I will do this every night, so I have it all written out come the start of my day.
On the weekly page I included my focus for the week, this week my focus is getting up earlier, being patient, getting outside more and eating better. I have four categories: “me goals” “blog goals” “house jobs” and “important dates”. At the bottom I have a space for reminders for week.
On the daily page I have a spot for my focus and reminders for the day. I also have “blog to do” and “to do” lists. It’s not as pretty as the weekly, that is why I don’t have a picture.
Once I know this is something that is going to work for me I am going to make a printable version of my weekly and daily pages. I am going to make a small binder and change it out every week. Stay tuned, if my pages look good enough I will make them downloadable!
I am excited to see how these changes affect my overall health and happiness!
