Welcome back to Taking Care of Mommy Monday! This week I am talking about how I am finding cheap ways to take care of my skin.
This post contains affiliate links (they will be marked with *.) If you decide to check out any of the products and then buy them, I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I am only recommending these products because they are products I use and love.
If you have been following along with this series, then you know I have recently become obsessed with taking care of my face. (You can check out the rest of the series here.)
With our budget, I cant spend a ton of money on skin care. So I have had to get creative with what I am spending the money on. I’ve had to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck and find cheap ways to take care of my skin.
So where does a mommy on a budget go, but still wants quality products? Target of course!!
And what mom actually needs an excuse to go to Target?! Not this one, that’s for sure!
First I want to show you the products I use on a daily.
Before I get into what I use on my face, I have to rave about up&up brand advanced therapy body lotion*. This stuff works wonders for my dry elbows and feet. (Plus the rest of my body, but those are my problem areas.) Best part? The price! Its a good product for a good price.
Now onto my face! The Clean & Clear deep action exfoliating scrub* has been my go to face wash for years now. And it works pretty well, when I am consistent with it.
Okay, this deep wrinkle night cream* is AMAZING! I was originally using the Yes to Carrots moisturizing night cream, bet then I found this. I can honestly say that after about four days the wrinkles on my forehead have become less noticeable.
No onto my “spa day” special treats!
Okay, if ya know me ya know I love face masks! And this Yes to Tomatoes detoxifying charcoal peel-off* mask is amazing! I was buying the individual ones on a weekly basis until I found this. It is on the more expensive side (still under $20,) but it lasts a while and you will get quite a few masks out of it. I bought mine two weeks ago and have got three masks out of it, and still have plenty left.
Need a little help with those tired eyes? I recommend these awesome eye masks.*
I have never bought this Que Bella gift pack*, but have bought a few of the mask’s individually. The ones I have tried are amazing. My skin felt so good!
On my “spa days” I usually start with my DIY gelatin face mask. (After cleaning and using a hot towel to open up my pores.) Perfect for finding cheap ways to take care of my skin! I love this thing, it pulls out so much nastiness from my pores. And way cheaper than the pore strips you can buy. Check out this post for more tips on this mask.
After I use my DIY mask I will use the charcoal mask. This can leaving my skin a bit irritated, so I went on the hunt for a soothing mask. I tried two different kinds of soothing cucumber masks that didn’t do the trick. And then I found this Yes to cucumbers cooling hydrating mist.* AMAZING! Soothes and cools, just what I was looking for. AND it adds some much need to hydration.
Like I stated above, money is tight for us. So finding cheap ways to take care of my skin is the only option for me.
And putting that effort into me is so needed after taking care of my family, house and everything else this crazy life brings us.
What products do you use in order to find some mommy time and take care of your skin? I’d love to connect with you in the comments!
